Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Montana has been developing a Youth Services Center with the following mission:
"To preserve and strengthen our community through a youth services center that will protect, teach, rehabilitate and integrate our youth back into the community while holding them accountable for their actions.”
An inclusive development model was used in the master planning process, wherein all service providers participated in decision-making.
Participatory workshops were used to develop different components of the plan. Services included:

  • Population analysis
  • Needs assessment for required bedspace
  • Functional narrative
  • Operational space program
  • Coordination of service providers to develop a program plan for the facility
  • Assistance in the development of RFP for the design services and architect selection
  • Design reviews at schematics, design development and construction drawing phases
  • Transition and activation planning
