This juvenile detention facility was completed in 2005 and remained unoccupied until the use of the initial program had changed in 2011.

JSG took the lead in developing a new program in concert with the Shoshone-Pauite Tribes’ planning committee, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA).

The new program will convert the facility into two functions both servicing the same tribal community:

  • Short-term Juvenile Detention Holding; and a
  • Day Treatment Center

This project has been approved for construction, which will begin in early 2012.
